"Am I Gay?"

More and more over the last few weeks I've been asked if I'm gay? I don't take offense when someone asks me, I actually find it somewhat amusing. The reasoning, I think, behind them asking me is because I don't match the stereotype of the "straight guy"

I will not name names of the people I feel have implied or asked that I am gay. For the record, I am not. I enjoy shopping for name brand/designer clothing. I enjoy all sorts of music, including Lady Gaga, Jeffree Star, Ke$ha and Pink. I'd rather watch the season finale of Glee or the Oscars then watch the super bowl. So what? Does that mean I am gay?

I will not try to hide it from people. Will I deny what I listen to, watch or do because I'm ashamed? No! I'm not at all ashamed, I embrace how I am! Lady Gaga is an inspiration to me. So what? It doesn't mean that I'm gay. I don't know all the football teams that means I'm less of a man? Nope. I cry a lot. Does that mean I'm gay? No, it means that I'm in touch with my emotions and if I need to cry then I will cry.

I realize that people are going to judge regardless but if I don't fit the stereotype for the "straight guy" so what. I am happy with who I am and will continue to be how I am, regardless what they say or think about me and at the end of the day, as long as I am happy... that's all that matters to me.

I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.

the other "F" word

Something that has bothered me for a while now, and it was covered on Tuesday's episode of Glee (Theatrically, which was a great episode!). I was so glad to see it, because of the main-stream of the show, and it helped.

What I am referring to is the use of the other "F" word: FAG

In the show, the speech that was given was in response to Finn using faggy around Kurt's character (who is gay) after Finn's mom and Kurt's dad moved in together and they have to share a room. In response to their newly decorated room, here is the what Kurt's dad, Burt, said upon hearing Finn use the word:

"Hey! What did you just call him? You use that word, you’re talking about him. You live a few years, you start seeing the hate in people’s hearts. Even the best people. You use the ‘N’ word? How about retard? You call that nice girl on the Cheerios with Kurt a retard? But you think it’s okay to come into my house and say faggy? I know what you meant! You think I didn’t use that word when I was your age? Some kid gets clocked in practice, we’d tell him to stop being such a fag: shake it off. We meant it exactly the way that you meant it: that being gay is wrong, that it’s some kind of punishable offense. I really thought you were different Finn. I thought that being in glee club and being raised by your mom, meant that you were some new generation of dude who saw things differently- you just kind of came into the world knowing what it’s taken me years of struggling to figure out. I guess I was wrong; I’m sorry Finn but you can’t stay here, I love your mom and maybe this is gonna cost me her, but my family comes first and I can’t have that kind of poison around. This is our home, Finn. He is my son. Out in the world you do what you want. But not under my roof."

I compeletly agree. I was glad when this was said on the show. One reason was because of all the people who watch it, that word should not be used... period. I have a tough time understanding why people have such a problem with the gay community. They should be able to get married and should have the same RIGHTS as everyone! So many people are against it! If you love someone, and you want to marry that person... do it. It shouldn't matter your sexual orientation, it's all about love.

A DREAMERS DREAM

A DREAMERS DREAM
BY WILSON VESSELY

ALAS, I SIT ALONG SIDE THE EDGE,
LOOKING AT THE FAR AWAY GROUND,
WONDERING WHO IS LOOKING,
BUT I DON’T REALLY WANT TO BE FOUND,
FOR HERE IN MY DREAMS, THERE IS NO FEAR,
IN MY DREAMS, I COULD LEAP OFF OF HERE,
AND FLY WITH THE EAGLES, AND THE 747S,
I COULD FLY ALL THE WAY TO HEAVEN,
OR IF I DIDN’T LEAP,
I COULD TAKE A BUS TO A BUSY STREET,
WALK AND TALK, TAKE IN THE SOUNDS,
STILL NOT WORRYING WHO IS AROUND,
FOR IN MY DREAMS, THERE ARE NO WORRIES,
IN MY DREAMS, THERE IS NO HURRY,
FOR COFFEE, OR BOOKS, OR SCHOOL OR WORK,
IN A DREAMERS DREAM, AN END WILL NOT LURK.

~Self Portrait~

It doesn't interest me if there is one God

Or many gods.

I want to know if you belong -- or feel abandoned;

If you know despair

Or can see it in others.

I want to know

If you are prepared to live in the world

With its harsh need to change you;

If you can look back with firm eyes

Saying "this is where I stand."

I want to know if you know how to melt

Into that fierce heat of living

Falling toward the center of your longing.

I want to know if you are willing

To live day by day

With the consequence of love

And the bitter unwanted passion

Of your sure defeat.

I have been told

In that fierce embrace

Even the gods

Speak of God.

Where's the originality gone?

Alright, here it goes....

So rumors have it that a re-make of the 1984 film "red dawn" is in production. Also an A-Team movie is slated to be out in 2010. They've remade the hulk like 5 times, and remade Friday the 13, they've remade a nightmare on elm street. Where is the creativity!? Hollywood has run out of ideas so they decide to keep re-making things, and butchering them in the process.

My beef with Hollywood in regards to red dawn is that movie is awesome.. WOLVERINES! anyway.. sure it was made with a budget of i think 2 million, might have been 1 million, and you can see the strings that the RPG rockets fly on, but that movie is a classic.. why is Hollywood remaking it. Plus there can't be a red dawn without Patrick Swayze!

There is no originality anymore! 2012 comes out soon.. another apocalypse movie, people are going to flock to see it because they think it'll shed some light for the future. I wanna see it, and I will go see it, I'm not psyched John Cusack is in it. I just wish the writers came up with something better. That's a big reason I like independent films because they are original! Hollywood could learn from the independent film industry.

That's it for tonight

Just a Simple Quote

Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today it was still worth it. Even the terrible mistakes that I made and would have unmade if I could. The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I`ve walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between, through it, and above.

Being Present...

Hello all,

My topic for this evening is being present.

One of the best things that can help you out in life is being present. We spend lots of time basing our fears and worries on the past, well the past is the past, you can't rewind, you can't start over... its done. So live in the present, be present in your relationships, with your friends, with anyone who you care for and even for the strangers, be present. We think 40,000 thoughts a day and 99% of them are repetitive! So tomorrow, break the cycle!! Go out and meet someone new! Don't let fear hold you back, be present to yourself and let those thoughts of the past, just float away.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week and Stay Present!
